On Monday morning, the Delhi cabinet ministers, spearheaded by Chief Minister Atishi, commenced an immediate assessment of the city’s road conditions, focusing on identifying and addressing damaged infrastructure to achieve a pothole-free national capital by the upcoming Diwali festival. Accompanied by engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD), Atishi conducted site visits in various neighborhoods across south and southeast Delhi. In a statement shared on X, the chief minister highlighted her observations of severely deteriorated roads in areas such as NSIC Okhla, Modi Mill flyover, Chirag Dilli, Tughalakabad, Mathura Road, Ashram Chowk, and its underpass, emphasizing the challenges faced by residents due to potholes. She instructed officials to initiate repair operations with urgency, asserting that “under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, it is our endeavour that all Delhiites get pothole-free roads by Diwali.” Additionally, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia conducted inspections of road conditions in east Delhi.
