The inaugural meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) focused on delimitation took place on Saturday, presided over by M K Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and president of the DMK. This gathering saw the involvement of 14 leaders representing at least five different states, who engaged in discussions regarding the potential risks associated with the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats, particularly for states that exhibit significant economic growth and high literacy rates. Notable participants included the Chief Ministers of Kerala, Telangana, and Punjab—Pinarayi Vijayan, Revanth Reddy, and Bhagwant Singh Mann—who contributed to the deliberations on this critical issue.
