Chandigarh, August 13 (Press ki taquat bureau): Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the leader of Dera Sacha Sauda, stepped out of Sunaria jail in Rohtak on Tuesday, enjoying a 21-day furlough granted by the Rohtak Divisional Commissioner. This release comes after a legal tussle, as the Punjab and Haryana High Court recently dismissed a petition from the SGPC that contested his temporary release, emphasizing that such requests should be evaluated fairly and without bias.
During this brief period of freedom, Ram Rahim plans to head to his ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in June, he had approached the high court, asking for permission to take a 21-day break from incarceration, which ultimately led to this recent decision.
