247th Board of Directors Meeting of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation Held
Process to Add New Ordinary Buses to PRTC Fleet Speeded Up

The important 247th Board of Directors meeting of the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) was held today at the PRTC Head Office in Patiala, presided over by Chairman Advocate Harpal Juneja. During the meeting, several major decisions were approved for the overall development of the corporation, employee welfare, financial strengthening, and providing modern amenities to passengers.
Chairman Juneja informed that the board took into consideration the approval of salary increases for lower-paid employees, which will directly benefit a large section of the staff. Along with this, consensus was reached to move forward with the process of implementing the National Pension System (NPS) for the employees.
Chairman Harpal Juneja further shared that the process of adding new ordinary buses to the PRTC fleet will be accelerated. In addition, estimates regarding the renovation of the old bus stand in Patiala, as well as starting the construction work for the Budhlada bus stand and workshop at the earliest, were discussed during the meeting.
To make passenger travel more convenient, the Board granted key approvals to proceed with the tendering process for the Vehicle Tracking System project and to effectively implement digital payment systems, including UPI, on Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETMs). On this occasion,
Managing Director Manisha Rana, while reviewing the working results presented during the meeting, stated that with the arrival of new buses and staff recruitment in the future, the overall performance of PRTC will further improve, leading to an increase in revenue.
This crucial Board of Directors meeting of PRTC was attended by Managing Director Manisha Rana, Vice Chairman Balwinder Jharwan, Director Rajinder Singh Rehal, State Transport Commissioner representative RTA Poonampreet Kaur, Finance Department representative DCFA Harpreet Kaur, Sanjeev Kumar from the Railway Department, as well as PRTC Additional Managing Director Navdeep Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer Rakesh Garg, Executive Engineer Jatinderpal Singh Grewal, Senior Legal Advisor Maninderpal Singh Sidhu, General Manager (Admin) Amanveer Singh Tiwana, and General Manager (Computers) Raman Sharma.
