Chandigarh, April 14 (Press ki taquat bureau): The Congress is facing the challenge of rebellion with the release of the list of candidates for Punjab. In an effort to appease disgruntled leaders from various districts, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal and Punjab affairs in-charge Devendra Yadav have intensified their efforts.
The central election committee meeting discussed the names of several candidates, including Charanjit Channi, Dharamvira Gandhi, Gurjit Aujla, Amar Singh, Sukhpal Khaira, and Jeet Mohinder Sidhu. Some leaders, such as Hardyal Kamboj and Dalvir Singh Goldy, expressed their dissatisfaction with the selection of candidates, particularly Dr. Gandhi. It remains uncertain whether Lakhvir Singh Lakha and Inderbir Bolaria, who were also called to Delhi, met with the top leaders.
Amrinder Raja Warring and Partap Bajwa were present in Delhi as well. The announcement of Charanjit Channi’s candidacy from Jalandhar has been delayed to prevent any attempts by AAP to poach Congress leaders. Vikramjit Chaudhary, the sitting MLA from Phillaur, has already rebelled against Channi.
