New Delhi, April 9 (Press ki taquat bureau): Haryana’s ruling BJP faced another setback as former Union minister and senior Jat leader Birender Singh rejoined the Congress, ending his 10-year relationship with the BJP.
Birender Singh and his wife Prem Lata were welcomed back to the Congress by party’s general secretary Mukul Wasnik, with several top Congress leaders present at the event. Birender Singh’s son Brijendra Singh, who had previously won from Hisar parliamentary constituency on the BJP ticket, had also joined the Congress last month and was present at the function.
Birender Singh criticized the BJP for its lack of concern for farmers and expressed surprise that he was not expelled despite supporting the agitation against the farm laws.
