New Delhi, March 28 (Press ki taquat bureau): Senior AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that ‘Operation Lotus’ has commenced in Punjab, following the recent defection of the party’s lone Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku to the BJP.
This term refers to the alleged practice of the BJP enticing MLAs from opposition parties to destabilize governments. Bharadwaj stated that AAP MLAs in Punjab have reported receiving calls offering money, Y category security, and Lok Sabha tickets in exchange for joining the BJP.
He also questioned Rinku’s decision to join the BJP, highlighting that the party ranked fourth in the 2022 Punjab assembly elections. Rinku, who was previously named the AAP’s candidate for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat, joined the BJP alongside Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural.
